Five hours in the heart
of Chianti Classico

We leave Villa Bordoni in a vintage Landrover series III – a vehicle as suited to these ancient roads as the oxen that once trod them. We maintain the high ground and drive south towards the Sienese Chianti Classico. We enjoy beautiful views of the Greve valley and the 1,000 year-old fortress village of Montefioralle. This is the Chianti where Da Vinci painted the Mona Lisa and the homeland of explorers Amerigo Vespucci and Giovanni da Verrazzano. We pass through the village of Panzano, made famous by so many world-class wineries and by the larger-than-life butcher: Dario Cecchini. Then off on dirt roads with sweeping 360 degree views as far as Volpaia. We will visit a winery and do our first wine tasting. Onwards then towards the small mountain hamlet of Lamole. We will visit a second boutique winery for tasting and a traditional, rustic light lunch of local specialities followed by a very merry short trip back in the early afternoon.

We leave Villa Bordoni in a vintage Landrover series III in the mid-afternoon. We maintain the high ground and drive south on country roads towards the Sienese Chianti Classico. We enjoy beautiful views of the Greve valley and the 1,000 year-old fortress village of Montefioralle. This is the Chianti where Da Vinci painted the Mona Lisa and the homeland of explorers Amerigo Vespucci and Giovanni da Verrazzano. We pass through the village of Panzano, made famous by so many world-class wineries and by the larger-than-life butcher: Dario Cecchini. We will stop to admire the spectacular, vine-clad, natural amphitheatre of the 'Conca d'oro'. Then off on dirt roads with sweeping 360 degree views as far as Volpaia. We will visit a winery and do a guided wine and olive oil tasting. We will be served Tuscan antipasti at aperitivo hour. We then merrily make the short trip back in the early evening.

Practical Information
What to Wear
Comfortable walking shoes — some village streets are cobbled and uneven. Dress in layers; mornings and evenings can be cool even in summer. A light jacket is always a good idea.
What to Bring
Your camera. Sunscreen and sunglasses in summer. A small bag if you plan to buy wine at the wineries — Insect repellent is also worth packing.

Cancellation Policy
A 35% deposit is charged on booking confirmation. You may cancel at no penalty up to 48 hours before your tour date. Within 48 hours, the deposit is retained. The remaining balance is due on the day of the tour.
